About the Job
We are seeking an exceptional Childcare Center Director to lead a large, licensed childcare center with professionalism, warmth, and strong operational leadership.

This is a key leadership position for someone who understands that a successful childcare center requires more than meeting licensing requirements. They would report directly to the owner. It requires building a strong team, supporting families, maintaining high standards, and creating a safe, positive environment where children and staff can thrive.

The ideal candidate will be an experienced childcare leader who is confident managing daily operations, supervising staff, communicating with families, and partnering with ownership to help the center continue to grow and succeed.

Position Overview:
As the Childcare Center Director, you will oversee the daily operations of a large daycare center and provide leadership to approximately 10–15 staff members. You will be responsible for maintaining compliance with Colorado childcare licensing requirements, supporting classroom quality, guiding staff performance, strengthening parent relationships, and ensuring the center operates with consistency, professionalism, and care.

This role is best suited for a leader who is organized, dependable, solution-focused, and able to create a culture of accountability while still being approachable and supportive.

Key Responsibilities:
  •  Lead the daily operations of a large licensed childcare center.
  •  Supervise, support, train, and coach a team of approximately 10–15 staff members.
  •  Maintain compliance with Colorado childcare licensing rules and regulations.
  •  Ensure all staff files, child records, training records, and required documentation are accurate and up to date.
  •  Monitor classroom quality, child supervision, curriculum implementation, and daily routines.
  •  Manage staff schedules, classroom coverage, ratios, and daily staffing needs.
  •  Communicate professionally and consistently with parents, staff, licensing representatives, and ownership.
  •  Support enrollment efforts, including tours, family communication, follow-up, and retention.
  •  Address parent concerns, staff issues, and operational challenges with professionalism and good judgment.
  •  Promote a positive, safe, organized, and welcoming environment for children, families, and employees.
  •  Ensure health, safety, cleaning, emergency, and incident-reporting procedures are followed.
  •  Partner with ownership on center goals, staffing needs, performance standards, and continued improvement.

Required Qualifications:
  •  Must hold Large Center Director Credentials through Colorado PDIS
  •  Must have current CPR and First Aid certification
  •  Prior leadership experience in a licensed childcare setting.
  •  Experience supervising, coaching, or managing childcare staff.
  •  Strong knowledge of Colorado childcare licensing requirements.
  •  Excellent communication, organization, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
  •  Ability to remain calm, professional, and effective in a busy childcare environment.
  •  Reliable, mature, and committed to maintaining high standards.

Preferred Qualifications:
  •  Previous experience as a Childcare Director, Assistant Director, Program Director, or similar leadership role.
  •  Experience managing a large childcare center or multiple classrooms.
  •  Familiarity with Colorado Shines, PDIS, licensing inspections, and staff qualification tracking.
  •  Experience with parent tours, enrollment growth, family retention, and staff development.
  •  Strong ability to build trust with staff, families, and ownership.

The Ideal Candidate:
We are looking for a director who leads with both confidence and care. The right candidate will know how to hold staff accountable while also building morale, supporting teachers, and creating a strong team culture.

This person should be comfortable making decisions, solving problems, handling sensitive conversations, and representing the center with professionalism. They should take pride in maintaining a clean, safe, compliant, and welcoming childcare environment.
